YEAR 5 - Assumpció Mateu

Framing the Dream: Dialogue

The artist Assumpció Mateu framed the landscape with her glance and has introduced her symbolic connotations to express the dialogue between the heaven and the earth, between what is seen and what is left unseen, between the presence and the absence, between the inner life and the outside... Thought her art work “Framing the dream: dialogue” she obtains a poetic, introspective fragment of the landscape completely integrated into it.
A dance and equine performance created by Sandra Carré and Lu Arroyo (Co. Ylalú) inaugurated the sculpture. 5 dancers, 2 long-legged, a rider and a horse recreated a magic world dancing among the olive trees that moved the spectators. Finally they vanished in the infinite ladder that starts in the holm oak and soars into the sky. ..

"The work ‘Framing a Dream: Dialogue’ consists of two elements that become fully integrated in this environment. Looking at the landscape, I chose a fragment: a holm oak area. There I placed a piece that adds a poetic and symbolic character, giving a human and cultural quality to the whole landscape in which it is framed." Assumpció Mateu

"The main challenge has doubtlessly consisted of becoming a part of this powerful landscape, respecting its poetic character, as well as being able to share it with works of artistic quality by other participant artists." Assumpció Mateu
