– Inauguration of the exhibition “Between Nature, threads and vineyards” by Palmira Rius
The Guitar Festival dedicated to Emili Pujol returns to Les Garrigues once again to continue bringing cultured music of string instruments to the general public. Different concerts in unique places that fill nights with summer personality & talent in the region.
Next Saturday, August 27, the duo Jovivic-Scevola (Serbia / Chile) presents his show “Women Composers” performing works by Freixes, Güell, Salvador, etc. in The Artists’ Vineyard by Mas Blanch i Jové.
Understanding the role of women in society and in art requires making an effort and going beyond the most widely told story. Women of the past, despite being relegated to the background for centuries regardless of their social position, found a way to express themselves musically. It’s time to make them the protagonists and be able to enjoy their creations. By thoroughly researching the music of modernism, they have found a handful of original works for voice and piano. Adapted for voice and guitar, the duo wants to give visibility to the figure of the compositional woman in the hands of Lluïsa Casagemas, Narcisa Freixas, Isabel Güell and Matilde Salvador.
You can also visit the temporary exhibition “Between Nature, threads and vineyards” by the artist Palmira Rius. The work leads us to fortunate coincidences: the territory, where the vineyard grows and the winery where the grapes sleep and become wine. Nature as a reason for support and textiles so present in life and works. The different compositions want to be combined in space, hanging, on the floor, on a ledge or as a counterpoint to the external landscape, all in a poetic visual synthesis between the different spaces of the cellar. The exhibition can be seen until the end of December.
Admission costs only 10 euros -8 euros in advance on this website-. The doors will open at 7:00 p.m. and will begin with a tasting of two organic and mountain wines from the Mas Blanch i Jové winery and a guided visit to the exhibition “Between Nature, threads and vineyards”, led by the artist Palmira Rius. The concert will start at 8:00 p.m. and will be outdoors, in front of the winery.
